The material plays a central role in shaping my Heritage series. Just as human beings belong to a singular, interconnected whole, trees—despite their many types and distinct qualities—are all ultimately part of the same family of wood. In this series, I carve detached body parts from various types of wood, reflecting Saadi's profound belief in the unity of humankind. This sentiment, rooted deeply in Persian culture, has become especially significant to me as an immigrant, where the notion of shared humanity across borders takes on new layers of meaning. The material, in this context, serves not only as a physical medium but also as a metaphor for connection, loss, and solidarity.

To expand on this idea, I am creating a series of ceramic sculptures inspired by the ongoing struggles in my homeland. These works serve as a response to the protests for justice and freedom, expressing my empathy for those fighting for the lives they deserve. Through these sculptures, I seek to convey a shared sense of humanity, reflecting both the resilience and courage of those demanding change. The fragility of ceramics—whose strength increases under pressure and heat—becomes a powerful metaphor for the current struggles of my people, symbolizing how adversity can forge strength and endurance in the face of overwhelming challenges.
